SHARE Military Initiative at Shepherd Center is a comprehensive rehabilitation program that
focuses on assessment and treatment for service men and women who have sustained a mild to
moderate traumatic brain injury (TBI) and PTSD from the Afghanistan and Iraqi conflicts.
Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) affect 1 in every 5 service members that return home from Iraq or Afghanistan. These injuries are unseen to the naked eye but crippling to the service members, as well as the families suffering along with them. Too often, TBI and PTSD lead to broken homes and even suicide.
SHARE Military Initiative provides assistance, support, and education to service members and their families during their recovery treatment and beyond. In addition, the program compiles data that is beneficial to the policy and legislative changes needed to provide for unfunded services.
Established in 2008, The SHARE Military Initiative at Shepherd Center has been saving lives through innovative research and treatment. We’re running from Atlanta, Ga to Arlington, VA to raise money for, and awareness about, the growing problem of TBI and PTSD for our returning warriors.
